Where It All Began
The foundation of MudPies began long before I ever imagined it could become a business.
As a little girl growing up in the country, I spent my days making actual “mud” pies- decorating them with wildflowers picked from around our home & my best friend’s farm.
We grew up simply, making the most of what we had by growing our own food, gathering, making most everything from scratch, and learning to be resourceful and creative along the way.
Eventually, my love of making mud pies evolved into something we could eat thanks to a little inspiration from my beloved Holly Hobbie oven (thanks, Mom & Dad!).
A dream realized
As the years passed, my curiosity and creativity grew alongside my passion for baking. With German and Italian roots, I found inspiration in food, music, art, unique flavors, and especially nature. Trail running became another creative outlet, and many of my ideas still come to me on the trails.
So, in 2012, MudPies LLC began with a table at local farm markets.
What started simply and organically has grown into a small, heartfelt business supplying wholesale products to local businesses and creating handcrafted treats for a treasured community of retail customers.
And somehow, those little mud pies decorated with flowers from our country home grew into something real.
A business rooted in creativity, resourcefulness, tradition, and a love of making something by hand.
A Little Bit of Everything
MudPies is a little bit of everything I love- family, tradition, creativity, and the simple joy of baking by hand.
What began as a collection of family recipes and traditions grew into something more as customers began asking for gluten-free, vegan, and other personalized options.
I realized people weren’t just looking for a baked good. They were looking for something made especially for them- for a celebration, a thoughtful gift, a dietary need, or simply a little help when life got busy.
That’s where MudPies found its purpose.
“I have a genuine passion for baking and for creating things that bring people a little bit of happiness.”
Whether I'm making something special for an important occasion, helping someone who simply ran out of time to bake, or adapting a favorite treat to better fit someone's lifestyle, I love knowing that something I created is making someone's day a little sweeter.
I take great pride in what I do. I believe good baking starts with quality ingredients, thoughtful details, and a whole lot of care. Whenever possible, I love incorporating local products and making choices that are a little kinder to the environment.
For me, MudPies has never been about simply making something to sell.
It’s about creating joy.
It’s about keeping traditions alive while making room for something new.
It’s about baking with intention, creativity, and heart.
A little bit of everything. Made from scratch. Made with purpose. Made to bring a little more joy to your table.
Welcome to MudPies.
